We have an area down the side of our house (approx 20 metres long by 4-5 metres wide) which we never use. It's a lovely sunny area with raised garden containing trees, and it is has around 8 foot fencing on all sides other than the gate into it.
I think it would be an ideal cat-run, as entry to this area is via a security door coming off the garage, which is built-in to the house.
Install a cat-flap into the security door and our new-to-be cat would have easy access to the cat-run from inside the house.
I am wondering what to use as roofing material? We think the simplest and best option would be to secure it to the top of the timber fence down one side, then secure it just under the eaves of the house on the other side.
Whatever we use has to be suitable for a Maine Coon. We also don't want it to look unsightly, and we want something that has holes big enough for leaves to fall through. We also don't want something that flaps at night etc, as several bedrooms look out over that area.
I was considering that solid steel fencing mesh. You can get it with different size squares. Has anyone here used that for the top cover on an enclosure?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
