I have a ten year old Javanese male he has had some stressfull issues over the last 2 years like a major house renovation & some new cat additions. I thought some of these may have begun the problem even though all has settled down the last 6 months he continues to lick and has thin patches plus vomits up hair dailylosing food and he body weight is lighter than I believe it should be , I just cant get him to stop. His diet is good IAMS pellets each morning and night feeds are usually meat like chicken pieces, roo meat, can food is limited 1 time per week max. Is there a spray that may taste bad that would stop him and break the habit.. Thanks Pete

Pete, I think you should make an appointment with your vet and discuss these issues. Good luck.

I have a nearly 2 year old Javanese male and he too can soak himself via over grooming. He was at himself constantly. It looks like it was related to first a protein allergy and second Tritrichimonas (sp). Once we got rid of the bug and switched him to a novel protein he really calmed down. He still grooms VERY throughly but nothing like before.
