Goodness me that is sooo sad - I feel for you. A Neutering operation is usually such a simple procedure - I imagine your vet was gutted as well....

R.I.P. little fellow.

Please don't blame yourself - it sounds like something very tragic and untoward happened...(((hugs)))

I am so sorry for your loss. I have owned 3 Russians (two are current).
It sounds like there must have been some unfortunate events for this to occur, but you cannot blame yourself, it is better for them to be desexed - and you were trying to do the right thing for him, your intent for him to have the surgery was for the right reasons. Please do not feel guilty for that, this wasn't your fault.
I have been a nurse (people) for 25 years, sometimes, despite all the care and the best intents, tragically things can go wrong, it isn't often, but when it does happen, it is devastating.
Again, I am very sorry for the loss of your dear Thomas.

I have never heard of that happening before. Have you spoken to the vet about why it happened? It just doesn't seem right to me, especially in a boy (the op is so simple).
