I joined a couple weeks ago, or around there when my 4 year old boy, birdwatcher, was having some problems.
I have two little ones. Moo Cow Kitty, who is 7 years old, and Birdwatcher, who is 4..Both Domestic Short Hairs. I will figure out how to get pictures up here soon :-)
Birdwatcher had surgery recently because he kept getting blocked with crystals in his urine. He has been in the hospital for about 2 weeks now today, finally recovering from his infections but I am so nervous about what is to come. I am afraid that even if he is doing better that something else will happen or the infection will come back. I just want them to be okay. But anyway...My fiance and I are in the process of moving into a cheaper apartment. We spent about $6,000 so far on Birdwatcher, but things were kind of financially going down hill anyway.
I hope I can bring him home soon, to our new home! Moo has been fine, I think she has 'kennel cough' as it's called from being in a shelter when she was about 1..I read about a respiratory thing that they never get rid of. The vet has said she's fine, she just snores real loud sometimes lol. They are very special..as most pets are. But I'm really missing my partially human boy lol. We are supposed to go see him tonight so hopefully seeing us will raise his spirits and encourage him to get better soon! Thanks for reading :-)

Sending pets and prayers! My
angel MyThai Thai ( in my avi) was prone to crystals. He had the surgery 3x. I was running out of money and I was considering taking the bone out to see if that would help, but luckily found that science diet CD food worked wonders and he never had an issue again. I hope this is it for Birdwatcher. Is it possible to find out what type of crystals he is producing? That might help to find something to stop it. Paws crossed.BTW Love the name.

Thank you! He was actually on the cd diet but had an allergic reaction to it so they gave me SD but he wasn't on it long enough to know anything. He blocked the day I noticed his face puffing up (3 weeks after the 1st time which led to the diet). My vet found a hypo allergenic brand of the same diet. So we shall see. I got to go see him for a bit last night but he was out of it. Poor guy has a cathedar in and a shaved behind! But I am hopefully bringing him home in a few days from what they are saying.
