I think it was last month? I wrote on here about my seal point's fur getting lighter. Scheduled a vet visit ASAP and he was treated for an eye infection. Well, it totally cleared up. For a few weeks his fur color was moving back in the right direction, but now it's lightening again even WORSE! Now the fur is growing in light on his feet and even his tail! My poor baby! I can't even tell you how destroyed I'll be if something serious is wrong. Vet appointment already scheduled. Just VERY anxiously awaiting it. I'm hoping he has the cat cold/flu he came here with and it's not something super scary. The last time I brought a fuzzy baby to the vet with something that even the drs. thought was minor at first, it turned out it was cancer so now I'm even MORE neurotic about my fuzzy babies when they get sick. My kitty baby!!!

I do remember your thread but I can't remember all the things posted there. But did you know that temperature affects the points on Siamese cats. If it is really cold, then their points are darker than if it is hot.

So his fur may have gotten lighter because it was just summer here (NYC)? Eeeek! I didn't realize the change could be so drastic from winter to summer, though the timing was right. I'll still take him to the vet just in case. Thanks!

They can lighten up in summer. That himalayan gene is heat senstitive. smile.gif

Here's my update: He's not even running a temperature. (Whew!) Right now the fur all over his face except his nose is much lighter, and under his eyes it's almost white. I'll wait and see if it gets darker again over the winter and we'll see how much of it was from the eye infection and summertime combo. I think under the eyes it might stay light though.... it's soooo light there! I'm so relieved it's not something bad!
