For the eleven years Sibyl has been with me she's suffered periodic problems with her stomach - vomiting, diarrhoea and unwillingness to eat anything other than grass. Usually, after a couple of days it clears up but it's upsetting while it lasts, partly because she's obviously in discomfort but also because she isn't concerned where she upchucks - on the bed, sofa or even, once, on my keyboard!

Since she's a long-haired tortoiseshell part of the problem is obviously hairballs, although I brush her regularly and she has Hill's Hairball Control but it's sometimes set off by her getting upset over unusual noises or other cats and obviously the fact that she was ill-treated in the first two years of her life hasn't helped.

I sometimes think that what she suffers from is similar to human IBS but my vet can't suggest any similar medication to what humans take to 'settle' their stomachs, apart from recommending Hill's Sensitivity Control as a food supplement - which actually doesn't seem to make much difference.

It would be good to hear from anyone else who has had this problem and found an effective solution.

Poor girl - I cannot advise but it must be awful. Perhaps a second opinion may be in order.
