Oh poor love, she does sound fearful. All cats are different.

Please confine her to one room with her litter tray, food water etc and give her a good time to settle in - the house may be far too much space for her and you need to establish a safe space for her - it may take quite a while for her to settle. Go in and chat with her and encourage her to relax - just talk to her to start with and let her work out that you don't intend to harm her. Perhaps be with her and read a paper or book out loud....play a radio softly.

There is no way of knowing what she has been through. If she was ok with you where you got her from she will no doubt settle given time.....but take it slowly.

Put some Rescue Remedy in her water and behind her ears and if you can get one plug in a Feliway diffuser.

Take a long slow time to introduce her to other cats. Good luck with her.

Do you have a laundry or even a bathroom - she might be better in one of those rooms. Poor little girl - she must be petrified. I am sure she will settle if she is eating already.

It does not matter if she bolts to start with - just be very patient.....she needs to watch you and realise you wont hurt her....it will happen but it might take time and a lot of patience. Several cats have taken 6 months plus to settle properly.

Once she is just guarded but not petrified you can start to try a feather on a stick....and keeping away see if she shows interest.

When I first adopted Meggs, I confined her in one room - the living room with us, we slept in the living room with her. You should just let her explore in her own time and don't force her to come to you. Just let her take her time and when she is comfortable, she will come to you!

Aww poor girl..does she have somewhere to hide in the bathroom?? ..a box with a towel over it for her to feel safe ..I'd give her a nice dark spot ,water food and litter turn on a radio and leave her alone..well until you need to go to the bathroom ..and then totally ignore her ..just hum quietly to yourself ..don't look at her ..(well you can but be sneaky )..and let her take her time.

Yes that is a good thing....do what Fleabag (Bronnie) suggested. She does need to hide until she is 100% sure you are not going to harm her....poor little girl. I like the humming, talking soft stories and not looking. Cats stare each other down so you don't want to do that.

It's important that you let her come to you....it will take time....but it sounds like she really needs a patient owner who will love her as she is.

Just to add that sometimes I get an adult cat come here and even with fairly confident cats you need them to come round in their own time.

Oh poor little poppit, when you confine her in the bathroom if you have a box tape up the top of it and cut one of the sides out and place a blanket or soft cushion in there for her to sleep on and keep her water and food bowls close to the box she is unsure of her surroundings and as someone said you dont know what has happened she could have been tormented or traumatised by something or someone, quiet and steady win the race so stay calm and speak softly to her and try and minimise noise

Hugs to you
Cherie

Ive had Mishka for 3 months now she is a 3yr old ragdoll that had been treated badly before the breeder saved her....she still hides if anyone comes or if I get up suddenly she races under the bed...its so sad but in saying that every morning she comes in with Clayton hops on my bed and when I pat him puts her head under my hand now so I can pat her too...then the last couple of days she has let me brush her back so its very slow and awful that she wont let me pick her up but we are progressing and also she loves Clayton they play..roll around together race through the house together and it makes me feel good she loves it here and even though it takes time its worth it...bye Betty
