I've just joined the forum and thought I'd say hello to everyone. My name is Dani and I'm from the UK. I've had cats all my life-my first kitty love was a black cat called Tom who I had when I was 7 (I'm 28 now) He was the best and it broke my heart when he died but 7 years before he went, a little black, starving stray 4 month old kitten turned up on my doorstep and sat in the rain crying to be let in and I instantly fell in love. She (Tess) was the most affectionate cat I have ever known. She'd follow me everywhere, even into the snow! A few weeks ago I lost her, at the age of 12, due to kidney failure. I was devastated as, not only was she the perfect cat, I've had ME since I was 14 and my cats became such lifelines for me when I was housebound/bedbound and wasn't well enough to see some family and friends. My ME is gradually improving but I felt at a loss without a kiity in the house so decided to get two new kittens.
So, meet Toby and Tilly! You can see a T theme emerging, no doubt! They are 9 weeks old and I've had them for two days. Toby is a little black male and was the runt of the family. He has wormed his way into my heart and gets on my knee, purrs and tries to lick me! Although, Tilly's head is his preferred sleeping spot at the minute! As is Toby's head, for Tilly! Tilly (a tortoiseshell) is much shyer and doesn't like to be stroked. I'm wondering if the original owner didn't fuss them as she seems to take no pleasure from human contact although is much more confident than she was (in just two days) She will play with me and has slept on my knee, along with her brother, and purred for 3 seconds yesterday!
So, anyway, I rambled on a lot but hopefully look forward to chatting and getting to know people and their cats. Bye for now!
