Hi all New here.gif

I've just joined the forum and thought I'd say hello to everyone. My name is Dani and I'm from the UK. I've had cats all my life-my first kitty love was a black cat called Tom who I had when I was 7 (I'm 28 now) He was the best and it broke my heart when he died but 7 years before he went, a little black, starving stray 4 month old kitten turned up on my doorstep and sat in the rain crying to be let in and I instantly fell in love. She (Tess) was the most affectionate cat I have ever known. She'd follow me everywhere, even into the snow! A few weeks ago I lost her, at the age of 12, due to kidney failure. I was devastated as, not only was she the perfect cat, I've had ME since I was 14 and my cats became such lifelines for me when I was housebound/bedbound and wasn't well enough to see some family and friends. My ME is gradually improving but I felt at a loss without a kiity in the house so decided to get two new kittens.

So, meet Toby and Tilly! You can see a T theme emerging, no doubt! They are 9 weeks old and I've had them for two days. Toby is a little black male and was the runt of the family. He has wormed his way into my heart and gets on my knee, purrs and tries to lick me! Although, Tilly's head is his preferred sleeping spot at the minute! As is Toby's head, for Tilly! Tilly (a tortoiseshell) is much shyer and doesn't like to be stroked. I'm wondering if the original owner didn't fuss them as she seems to take no pleasure from human contact although is much more confident than she was (in just two days) She will play with me and has slept on my knee, along with her brother, and purred for 3 seconds yesterday! clapping.gif It's still very earlier days and I'm aware there may be teething poblems but would like to chat to fellow cat lovers about all things feline smile.gif I still miss Tess everyday but I feel two new cats may help ease some of the sadness and no doubt keep me rather busy!

So, anyway, I rambled on a lot but hopefully look forward to chatting and getting to know people and their cats. Bye for now! bye1.gif Dani

Hi Dani,
Welcome to CW to you and your new kitties - we have a few people here from the UK. It will be lovely to meet your babies - next thing you need to do is learn how to put a photo up here of them *grin*.

At one stage of my life I had ME so I know how debilitating it can be....and how frustrating. I eventually repaired with the aid of Homoeopathic Remedies....you have some very good Homoeopaths in the UK - I lived there myself for 12 years.

If you want to talk about cats I think you will find you have come to the right place.
Heather

Thank you everyone for the welcomes smile.gif I've been looking around the site and it looks like a great place.

I'm liking the UK emoticon 3dflagsdotcom_uk_2faws.gif Hello to the fellow UK people! And a big hello to everyone else, too!

Thanks for the advice, Heather. Hope yours is a lot better now. I've tried alternative therapies in the past and am always happy to try any natural remedy that may help. It is very frustrating and cats, and all pets in fact, can really help with that.

Thanks for what you said too, John. You put it perfectly and I'll never forget the cats that have brought me lots of smiles.

I have figured out how to post pics to the board so will post some pics in the cat photo threads/forum. Looking forward to seeing pics of everyone elses cats, too. Tilly and Toby are really settling in and feel like part of the family. They are asleep atm and look so sweet wub.gif Ten minutes ago they were going crazy chasing their own tails!
Thanks again smile.gif

Hi and welcome

Cats can bring such joy into your life, and each one is different and thus can occupy a totally different spot in your heart, I certainly could never imagine my life without them
