Hello!!
I'm Nicole 22 and I live in Victoria. My boyfriend and I recently adopted a cat from the RSPCA shelter. It was quite hard to find the right cat. We both weren't interested in a kitten. We wanted a cat. Thankfully our gorgeous boy was there!
We adopted a two year old Tabby (brown and black). Poor thing had been there for almost a month. Age and time being in the shelter played a major part in our choosing. We wouldn't have adopted him, if we didn't get a good vibe and have a nice time with him. According to the ladies at the shelter, we just saved him. His time at the shelter was over by the end of the week. Lucky!
We named him Henry.
I found this site, while I was doing some research on feline AIDS. It's been so long since I last had a cat, didn't even know it existed! Guess that's why I'm here, to ask questions if anything pops up, answer anything...if I can, and just talk to other cat lovers!
My Dad always knew I'd be a crazy cat lady. He told me, that I'm on my way....
Sorry for rambling! Glad to meet you all!

Hi Nicole!
I'm new here on the forum too, and like you, my boyfriend and I recently just adopted a cat (or rather, in my case, she us when she came walking up our backyard and stayed). :D
I think you and your bf are awesome for adopting Henry, and he's really lucky to have you two as his humans.
Hope to see photos of your gorgeous feline soon!

Sorry for taking so long to reply. Silly work taking up all my life, ha.
Thanks very much for the welcomes!
Was trying to upload pictures of Henry last night but my phone didn't like me. It likes me tonight, so here they are!

He was checking out my bed at my parents house. Had a good time, meeting new people. Heh. Kneading and purring like a machine!
Henry is settling in quite well. Runs around like a nutcase though heh. Found a few good spots in the house to sleep and get comfy. Didn't take long to get him to eat, drink, use the litter box. We've been glad that he is getting comfy with us, were a bit worried. Been in the shelter for a month, having to be desexed, micro chipped and vaccinated, then moved to a new home. Glad he is doing well!
Being the usual cat, he has already claimed my computer chair and a teddy that I got a few years ago. I don't own those anymore. Ha.
Chris and I are very happy to have him! Even though he meows all the time.... heh.
One more photo >__>

Playing with his scratching post. Yes, those are blow up goats. Been asked a few times about this photo. I got them when Borat was released in Oz. Work promotion...

He looks teeny! Does he respond to his name?
Getting there... I think. Sometimes when we say Henry is looks, other times he ignores. But I think all cats do that. Heh.
