New To The Group And The World Of Cats

Hi all, I came across this forum whilst googling "cat enclosures" and was impressed by the helpful advice given to each other.
I live in Southern NSW and have a new acquired lilac Burmese called Beama (because my hubby's always wanted a BMW). Beama's Dad is called Holden and him Mum is called Vectra. My hubby is a die-hard Ford man - hence calling our new baby "Beama".
We have two daughters age 11 and 9 and have always been dog people. Hubby likes cats but I could go so far as to say I rather hated them. We had a pound cat for 8 years which lived out in the shed and I never ever touched. He went missing earlier this year so I relented and took Miss 11 to the pound to choose another one. When I calculated the costs would be up around the $250 mark I decided to investigate the price of Burmese as several friends have had them over the years and I quite liked them.
Several months later I'm now the besotted slave to 7 month old Beama who lives indoors, sleeps in my bed and causes never-ending fights amongst my family as we fight over who gets to snuggle him on our laps. So converted am I that I have put a deposit on a little chocolate girl who is Beama's full sister from the next litter. She'll be ready late November.
I'm keep to read the forums here on feeding and nutrition, as well as a lot of general cat care and behaviour stuff.
Looking forward to "meeting" you all :-)

And he will cost you a lot less than a car to keep.
Hi...I've only been here a week. It's a very friendly and helpful place. I know a lot of "Dog People" who have been converted to cats. Cats are very subversive - they sneak up on you and before you know it you surrender!
Hope you have fun and the next thing is we ALL want pictures of Beama to coo over. He'll have a lot of ne "Aunties."

cough cough **clears throat**.......... **stands up**
Hi, my name is Bronwyn and I'm a CW addict. **applauds welcome**
My addiction started not so long ago when Abbey took over my heart.
If it were not for this forums help, advice and love of cats, I would not be the devoted loving fur mum that I am!
Not just that, but I swear they all secretly conspired for me to fall in love with Albert (see kitten chat) who will be our next addition to my family. Otherwise how else could it have happened????!!!!!
So welcome and no doubt everyone here will make you feel right at home!!
