About us: Jack is a gorgeous black and silver tabby female, with stripes that run from the base of her neck to her tail, with a sort of bull's-eye swirl on either flank, and the solid white belly, legs and under neck, and fur so soft it's almost like a pelt. She is 5 years old. B'Ellanna is my roomie's kitty, but I'm her Nanny (I love being a cat nanny). B'Ellana's mom is a Trekkie, and B'Ellana is also a tabby, but what I call a salt-and-pepper with flecks of black and silver and white on top and solid white on the bottom, sort of like Jack. B'Ellanna is 4 years old and is an excellent companion, chatty and involved in whatever is going on. Rainey is a solid gray Angora, 15 years old and spry as ever. Shiloh is our new outdoor kitty, abandoned by neighbors, and he is a love - white with both ears black and a solid black tail, with aone large spot on either flank. Thankfully he has been neutered.

So glad to find another kitty-oriented site. After googling search for "lemongrass" and "cats," there you were. My cat, Jack O'Lantern, has discovered my patch of lemongrass in the yard and was chomping away happily until I removed her. Have heard that cats are very sensitive to volatile oils, but did discover that apparently many cats enjoy lemongrass without harm. I'll watch her for a bit, just to make sure, and in the meantime I'll make a cup of tea for me.

Hi everyone
I'm a new member, my name is Mary, so glad to be on this site!
I have 7 cats, they are:
Callie-10 yrs. old, a siamese mix, or maybe a snowshoe? I'm not sure, I thought siamese mix but one vet wrote on her chart snowshoe..
Muffin-9 yrs old, tortoise shell/calico. she has the tortie colorings but quite a bit of white too. M. can get territorial at times and be bossy with C sometimes, but Callie has her moments of hissing or swatting if she doesn't like something M. does!
M. & C. live with my mom, are her cats but I include them since I still think of them as mine too.
and love them so much
Emma/Louise- 8 yr. old littermates, grey tabbies. L. is more spotted, a little Abysinnian or Ocicat-like, or maybe "Egyptian Mau"-do I have that right? E.'s coat is more tabby pattern, and she is a couple pounds more than L. Louise is more vocal, shrill "cries" and is a scaredy cat. Emma is the only one of my cats that lets me hold her for long periods of time! she actually WANTS me to hold her!
Charlie- 7 yr. old, black & white "tux", Norwegian forest cat, he is my only long haired cat.He is a very active little guy! high energy! also is a scaredy cat.
Leo- 7 yr. old, black & white, my BIG boy! he is taller and bigger than the rest, like a baby lion cub! does not like to be held but will cuddle next to me while sleeping(or trying to!)
I got C & L at the same time, both about 9 weeks old. they got to be friends real fast and when they were kittens, were always wrestling and chasing each other! at times it looked like a soccer ball had rolled by!
Cassie-8 yrs. old, tortie, my stubborn, but sweet girl. she hardly ever meows, then it is just a very quiet, squeaky meow.
I got Muffin when she was 7 months old,(Nov 2000) then I got Cookie who was 10 weeks old,(March 2001-Feb. 2002) and is now at RB
then I got E.& L. also at 7 months old(March of 2002-too soon after Cookie but they needed a home and I wanted them to stay together) I got C & L in July 2002, then Cassie and Callie in Oct. 2002. whew! a lot of cats in that year!
Callie was 3 yrs old when I got her, Cass was 1 yr. old.
