Hello,
I have a 18 year old male cat. He yowls a lot, well... like when I go to bed, within 15 minutes he jumps off of the bed, runs into the closet(he has a cat bed in there) and just screams! lol He also does it 3hrs before I get up. It lasts only a few seconds but I'm like what the heck! :P He does it every now and then... its not a new thing, he has been like this for most of his life. He is vet checked regularly... his sight, hearing (for the most pat) are good, he still runs and jumps like hes a young one! I guess he is just very vocal! Any suggestions? Or input would be great, I would like to sleep until the alarm clock goes off lol

LOL my little rescue girl Sapphy has a little ritual with me. She comes and settles on the bed but once the lights go out she likes to go and sleep on her sofa. She does something similar like "arow" and of cause I answer back! This goes on for a few minutes then she settles!
I think at the grand old age of 18 your furball probably isnt going to change LOL And at that age why should he!
Maybe some ear plugs for you

My bengal girl loves to yowl
Its just become normal here now. We get four yowls in the morning at her breakfast time (on the fifth one, she gets loud and I worry about complaints from the neighbours) and we get yowling at the door when we get home (whether she is fed or not). Also get it if she wants attention and we are ignoring her.

One of our boys (not sure which one. I thought it was Dweezil cause it sounds like his voice, but then when we open the door Monty was there and Dweezil was nowhere to be seen, so who knows! lol) has recently begun chirping and calling at our bedroom door (which is closed at night so we can get some sleep) at 5am every SECOND morning. Not sure why. lol. He's our little alarm clock (only problemo is that we don't get up at 5am. Ever. lol)

Let me know how the vet check goes!
Yes ear plugs! LOL

We picked up a Feliway, to see if this will help. If not, back to the vet we go. Heh.

Do you think people always had these sorts of cat issues? Like, way back in the 20s and 30s and such? When things like Feliway weren’t available? Have cats become maladjusted in these modern times or are we just not putting up with having our poor beloved cat-kids upset these days and are more aware of their behaviours?
