Protein losing nephropathy?
That is what they diagnosed Garfield with.

Well, according to I found, it is a form of kidney disease.

was about to say from the last word that the nephrons are part of the kidneys, so had the idea that it was some sort of disease meaning the kidneys were not functioning fully (one of the things coincidentally my dad is experiencing with his cancer)

But, is it a disease, or just an infection?

looks like it is a symptom of an underlying disease. One of the things suggested iaccording to what I just turned up on Google was

Thanks, he was tested for FIV, and FeLV, those were both okay.
