I have two male desexed Cats, one is 2 years old and the other 10 months, both were gotten from shelters. They both get along very well, groom each other, playing rolling around etc. Lately my 10 month old boy has been hopping on the other cats back, pinning him, grooming him on the face, under the neck and biting. The 2 year old is very submissive to him, even though he is the dominant one to my third male cat.
My 2 year old hasn't laid a paw on him or struck the 10 month old in any way.
I was wondering is this a dominance thing, my 10 month old is trying to display?.
Many thanks
Celia

Dominance Question?

We have 3 male cats in my house too, my 2 and my housemates 1. Their cat is quite a bit younger and when he was around 8-12mths old he started to try and show dominance in the exact same way and my cats were also very passive for the most part, but I feel that they are passive because they don't really see the young cat as a threat... now that he is a bit older he has gotten over it though.
Hehe it is so cute how they start out cleaning and quickly turn to biting.. then wrasslin'. Always entertaining, as long as it doesn't get too serious.
