I have a adult male indoor cat. He seems to have 1 runny eye (clear), and a bit of a sniffy nose. I have recently had fires inside my house (fireplace lol).. it could be from the occasional smoke? He is eating and playing fine as well as his bathroom habits are the same, no change. He sleeps the same amount of time..
His eye is not puffy, no colour in the water discharge, I see no forgien object as I have wiped it with a damp cloth. He actually likes that... any thoughts would be helpful! confused1.gif
He does sneeze a bit and his breating sounds clear (no mucus sound).

I think you should take your cat to the vet as it could be a number of things.

I also think a vet visit is in order, Is he indoors only? I'd be getting him checked for Cat Flu and Feline Aids - just to rule them both out.

If he is congested by the fires, you can try bringing him into the bathroom with you when you have a shower and see if the steam helps with decongestion. Perhaps the air quality isn't great after the fires have been lit and it's quite possible that it would cause some irritation. Do keep in mind that cats can be bell weathers for problems around the house and perhaps your fireplace is not venting as well as it should or has not been cleaned as thoroughly as it needed to be after being out of use - I would definitely be getting that checked out too.
