Hello again,

Rather than stud tail I'm thinking what I'm actually dealing with is ringworm (oh no!) and feline acne. Despite having had cats for 30 years I've never had to deal with ringworm before (lucky me)! Came across this "Pets Best" stuffon the net and wondered if anyone else has tried it, sounds a little too good to be true...

I don't believe that MSM works to cure ringworm. It sounds very much like a quack product to me. Ringworm is a fungus and is very difficult to kill because it releases spores which spread into the cat's environment, bedding etc. This product claims to cure ringworm in 3 days with topical application and compares itself to using tea tree oil to treat ringworm, saying their product is better. They quote statistics without claiming to have tested their product scientifically. Before and after pictures prove nothing. I work as a Vet Nurse and I have never seen MSM or tea tree oil used to treat ringworm. I say don't waste your money buying this product.

I have always used Grisulfven (sp) but I have heard good things about Sporonox (sp). It is meant to work faster that Gris, but is also more expensive. These are both tablets that work by killing the ringworm from the inside out. For the actual lesions, you should apply either a human ringworm cream (like canestan) or iodine (betadine). You also need to disinfect EVERYTHING. Ringworm spores are highly contagious and can survive in the environment for years. Get yourself some F10 (you should be able to order it through your vet or otherwise online) and spray everything. You can also get Canestan rinse to go in your washing machine when you wash your clothes, bedding, etc. Ringworm is an absolute pain in the arse! LOL!

I have never used this product but a breeder friend of mine has. He totally got rid of the ringworm in two day and had several cats affected. I have decided if I ever get ringworm here, this will be the first product I use.
You will still need to clean the environment to ensure the spores are gone to ensure there is no re-infection.
