Yes she did as a wee bub, we rescued her at 4.2 mths, I have finally got some action from the vets seeing as I hve had 6 visits in the last 3 weeks my bank balance is zilch at the moment LOL nothing unusual, and the meds they gave us a week ago were useless so we are back on the cavulux and I will be gong down an alternative route, she is having her nasal passages opened with laser surgery but I do believe their is scaring not sure if in the nose or its in her throat you just feel useless, the bisolvin worked well again last night and I hve given her more today and pick up the 3 week course today and when we get our new bub next week or the one after we will all be going back to speak hopefully to our fav vet Chris fingers crossed he is back then
Heather with the Homeopathy, would one just search or would there be a place that does it for animals or just humans and contact them?? also my vet mentioned seeing a feline specialist which is going to cost me $400 consultation

From what I understand, the stenotic nares operation works really well, I haven't had to go that way for Bella, hope like hell that I never have to, I've spent enough on corneal grafts on her eye, but she has small nostrils and also has the herpes virus and I dread the flare ups that happen. I didn't even realise until recently (she's only 18 months old) that the simplest of things can trigger it.
I know it is more medication, but is worth talking to your vet or a opthamologist specialist about any of the antiviral drugs for a short time when she flares with herpes. It doesn't kill the herpes off totally just supresses it so that you can hit any infections on the head, I use the anti viral drug and a short course of antibiotics when I think things at home may stress her or if I have to take her to the vets or there are people coming to the house, particularly with the problems that she's had with her eyes and what they think the herpes causes there (with the flat faced breeds).
I know that it sounds like a lot of medication but I 'm working on the theory (with my vets and specialists okay) that if I hit the problem on the head quickly I won't get the major problems in the future.
Unfortunately, 90% of the cat population has herpes and it is easily passed from cat to cat, even queen to kitten which is one theory that I have had from the specialist that saw Bella and the virus here in Australia in her opinion is far more virulent that that in the UK and persians get it doubly hard as there are a lot of cats out there that have very small noses and nostrils.

Carmel
Carmel you not wrong all my persians have had nose issues although Tiffany not so much I have never had a severly peke faced persian so its all new to me. I have gotten more cavulux from the vets yesterday and still using bisolvin, and begged the vet for more than 5 days which is not enoguh course it just starts working and then wammy course of meds is over, so 3 to 4 weeks kick the hell out of it or atleast knock on the head and combined the the holisitic treatments and her op in jan fingers crossed it will ease a bit, weather has been up and down cold at night warm during the day and our bedroom is the coolest place in the house and she sleeps under the bed which we cannot stop
will let you all know how I get along
Thanks your all fantastic.

They are usually very prompt with their reply and when I order a product it usually arrives the next day ( from WA) which is great when you are desperate to start therapy ASAP.
They are great with following up progress and you can ask their advice any time.
Good luck and sending you lots of
Hugs,
Carmen xx
