My poor Wilson has had this problem for about 5 months now... He is 1 yo... I have put him on special diet as recommended by vet. but still he is getting clogged up every 10 days or so.... and is just not going to do NO. 2's - He's had several enemas and I've been trying flaxseed oil, pumpkin in food, bran, and eventually lactulos (recommended by vet) BUT now its happened again and he is at vet having a procedure called maceration.... I have been told this will be a life long issue and must think about how long we are willing to go with it. Wilson does not appear to be in pain or discomfort except for fact cant go... when this happens.... ANY miracle cures??? Suggestions would be much appreciated...

Ongoing Constipation - Then No Poo At All

Does he have megacolon? It sounds like this might be the case.
If so, there is a medication called cisapride which can be used to increase the strength of the peristaltic action of the bowel (pulsing squeezing motion that moves poo through the bowel). Please talk to your vet about his condition and whether it is megacolon and if cisapride might help. It is usually made into a flavoured liquid at a compounding pharmacy.
