Please Help Find Louie
My beautiful 2yo Chocolate pointed Burmese Louie went missing on the evening of Wednesday 11th November 2009 at about 7pm from Hackett and we are devastated.
He is microchipped and de-sexed, but he was not wearing his collar when he went missing as it had broken a couple of days previously (he thought chewing it was a game).
I am not sure if he has just gone walkabout, but this would be completely out of character for him, he has never done it before. He is an indoor cat who is only allowed outside when we are home. He had not had his dinner, as I was preparing it while he was outside, and as any cat lover knows, cats do not venture far from their bowls at dinner time.
The weird thing about Louie going missing is that at the time that he disappeared, a strange car crept very slowly up the street and stopped in our driveway for about 1 minute then drove away. We live in a very quiet street and the only traffic we get is people who live here.
Louie loved sitting in the driveway and rolling around, and he is a very friendly little furry person, so it would be very easy for someone to just pick him up.
Please send this to everyone you know, if anyone has seen Louie or knows of someone that has ‘purchased’ a new Chocolate Pointed Burmese in the last few days, please contact me on 0409 951 135 or call the RSPCA on 1300 4 777 22 and give the code 41704.
If you check the RSPCA website, you will also notice several Chocolate Burmese cats have gone missing in Canberra in the last few days!
Words cannot express how happy we will be if Louie comes home – the house is so empty without him.
Please help us find Louie by emailing this to all your friends – with your help we can reach everyone in Canberra. Someone must have seen Louie!
If nothing else comes out of this at all, watch your pet, there may be someone watching them!
Many thanks
Sheryl

don't give up!!!
we lost a choc burmese a few years back, but found him when tracing the streets 3 MONTHS LATER!
he was in someone's house (luckily for us she let him outside because he came up to us and flopped on our feet), who conveniently claimed that 'she saw the flyers everywhere, but thought Bert was a girl!).
Bert was trying to make his way home.
i would recommend you make up a flyer (coloured is good) and offer a reward... advertise as though your cat needs medication (extra work for someone might make them change their mind) and a little white lie won't hurt anyone if it brings him back.... letter drop your flyers around your house, radiating, getting further and further each night... laminate them and post them in shopping centres and at bus stops... and keep at it! it took us 3 months of every single night walking the streets... but we got him back in the end!
try your paper with the 'needs medication' and 'reward offered'... if someone has genuinely catnapped him... that combination should work.
best of luck!
come on louie, it's hometime mate!

oh dear this isn't nice to read. I do hope he is back home soon. Is Hackett near Watson? I'm pretty sure it's where my brother has recently moved. I've posted this to him. He's an animal lover and walks and cycles a LOT in the neighbourhood. He'll keep his eyes open I'm sure.
Don't forget to let us know when he comes home!!

We don't recommend using "needs medication" anymore as it just doesn't have the impact it had 10 years ago. Everyone uses it on their posters, so much so it has become meaningless. Instead use "has diabetes" or "epilepsy" and describe some features of these illnesses eg "excessive sleeping" "excessive drinking", these are very misdiagnosed symptoms for many illnesses and generally any cat. We call these high impact tools for posters and flyers.
We had a request from lost pet owners to offer a consultation service for people that can do all of the physical leg work themselves, but just want to get the advice on what to put onto posters, where to search and know what to do, when to do it and where to do it. So we have just launched our lost pet consultation service and can be done over the phone, in person or on skype.
Good luck with finding your cat, we are all here if you need advice
