Hello,
By using google I found this cat forum. As my mothertongue is not English please excuse my English mistakes.
I have 2 cats, Othello, a domestic shorthair red tabby 18 months old and a British shorthair blue, a full breed, 2 1/2 yars old.
The first cat in house was the red tabby Othello. 1 month ago I got the British shorthair. he's beautiful but was neutered 1 month ago just before we got him.
He is very dominant and chases Othello away. Like when Othello sits in a chair, Odillon the British shorthair will go and sit in front of him. Othello runs away. He is so scared and will stay in the basement for all day long, there where Odillon will be relaxed in the house.
When Othello is outside he does not want to come in the house, even not at night when it's cold, only when he is very hungry we can catch him and put him inside.
I try to keep them apart but I cannot watch them 24/7
I gave Othello already Bach flower remedy (walnut) with no effect and also Rescue drops. I don't see any difference.
I have 2 cat litters and the food bowls are 5 meters apart.
Any advice is very welcome.
Thanks

Poor Othello, I would go speak to your vet ..you can get hormone injections to calm down the newly neutered BSH who still thinks of himself as a "man"
For now..I would keep them separate ..in different rooms perhaps...and give Othello extra attention ...you can also get Feliway which is a pheremone to help cats relax and be happier.
Good luck!!

Yes lots of extra cuddles for Othello. Have you tried giving Othello his favourite treats when Odillon is around to try to teach him that when Odillon is near it's not such a bad thing - you would need for Odillon to be around but not able to approach Othello when you do this so if you have a parnter or friend that can pay attention to Odillon while you reward Othello that would help. I would be keeping them seperated when not supervised so that Odillon can't bully Othello when you're not looking and set back any progress you start to make. I would also swap their spaces over during the day so that Othello spends some time upstairs and Odillon in the basement so that they are getting equal time in the house. Hopefully they will settle.
ETA Is Othello neutered too? If not, that might help him feel less territorial.
