Lately I've been noticing a weird scab-like thing on the inside of one of Leo's nostrils. It's not hard like a real scab and scratches off easily as if it was just a lump of dirt but everytime I clean it off for him, it comes back. It doesn't seem to hurt or be bothering him much but I'm just completed paraniod that it could be cancer or something. The poor thing has a pink nose so would be very susceptable to things like that but he is still only very young (10 months old) and is a mostly indoor cat, so I'm not sure what the chances would be that it is cancer related.

Has anyone seen this sort of this before? Could it just be that he scratched his nose on something that isn't healing very well?

I think you should make a vet appointment for Leo to be on the safe side.

I have a cat named Leo too! and he had a sore in his nose, it is part of the eosinophilic granuloma...could YOUR Leo have that? my Leo's nose kept bleeding on the one side till the med cleared it up, the clindamycin.

Another Leo! How coincidental that it sounds like MY Leo has the same sort of problem as YOUR Leo!

I did a quick google search on eosinophilic granuloma and it said something about allergies which makes a lot of sense! Leo's occasionally suffers from an allergic reaction on his lip. It usually goes away in about a week but the first time we took him to the vet to get it checked out they just gave him a shot of antihistamine i think and said that it was just allergies and it would normally just clear up by itself.

I think I may have to make a visit to the vet cos from what it sounds like, he may need treatment for this one.

Thanks for the advice!
