Hi Eva,
I too am trying to get some weight on one of my cats, and I started giving my cat 1/2 a Periactin tablet from the chemist once a day, but now I have just started using Infant Pentavite drops at the kind suggestion of Barbara to stimulate her appetite. Hopefully if she starts eating more of a good balanced diet the weight should also increase. Good luck with your little one.

I'd consider a high energy cat food...Royal Canin has 'Outdoor 30' which is made for cats that have a high energy output...but it should do the trick on adding weight to a cat that doesn't perhaps expend thaaat much energy...either that or it will give her what she needs to get thru the day without loosing any extra smile.gif

OK,
Whilst my Boxer Rocky ISN'T a cat, here is a recipe we use for our dogs when they need to put on weight. Maybe you could modify it so it's more delectible for felines? My dogs LOVE THEM, and gobble up the ones you put in front of them, and sit there waiting for more smiley_lol.gif

SATIN BALLS RECIPE

5kg hamburger mince or Chicken Pet Mince
1 box of Sustain or Just Right-Just Grains
500g Oatmeal
#1 cup of Wheat Germ
1 1/4 cup vegetable oil
#1 1/4 cup of Un-flavored Molasses
10 raw eggs + eggshells
100g of Un-flavored Gelatine

Mix all dry ingredients together, and place in another bowl. Mix all wet ingredients together. Tip half into an extra bowl, and add half of the dry ingredients with it. Then mix in 1/2 the meat and make into round balls. Divide into freezer bags and freeze. Repeat with 2nd lot. Thaw as needed.

Satin Balls are fed to dogs when weight is needed to be increased in dogs. Satin Balls can be fed either by itself, or as a supplement to a dry food diet. You can also serve vegetables with it, or add it to the recipe. Dogs can be Satin Balls as a treat for training, and is used by people who show dogs, as they can begin feeding a few days before their next show just for added extra "roundness". It is great to add shine to coats, and the added garlic helps keep Fleas at bay.

# Items can be found in the Health Food aisle of your local supermarket.

Obviously the protein/fat would have to be boosted in the cats meal compared to the dogs, so maybe play around with that idea?

Hope it helps,

-Angela
