Hi - I have used a firm called While You're Away (Paul & Mary Archer) based in Shropshire. We had live-in sitters on three occasions from them. They carry their own insurance. The agency will send someone along for you to "interview" a few weeks before you go away - if you are happy with them they will then cat sit for you but if you aren't too happy with them you can ask the agency to send someone else. They are usually retired people and I have to say I couldn't fault them. It is a big leap of faith to have a stranger living in your home but it worked out well for us.
