Hi everyone in UK

I'm a new mum of two beautiful boys - they are 13 weeks and I'm now thinking of buying them an enclosure on my patio. I have looked at the ones in CW and they are smashing but I can't find any companies or any shops which may have any leaflets if I can make it or buy it

Any help or info would be good for me

Kathy

ps I'm disabled and have a problem with speech/writing or reading so --- sorry if the words here are not 100%

Hi Kathy

Welcome to CatWorld. welcat.gif

Sorry I can't help but I'm sure there will be some great advice given here about cat enclosures.

Looking forward to hearing more about your 2 new beautiful boys.

Sue

Hello from another UK member, and welcome. Congratulations on your two new boys.

I have a home made enclosure which is attached to my house, so the cats just hop in and out through a window as they feel.

The only place i have seen them advertised here is in cat magazines, I think it also depends on what size of area you are covering

I think IMOM has one attached to his patio, maybe he can help.

Hi Kathy, a large bird aviary would do just as well and there are bound to be places in the UK who make them. If you know someone who is handy with the tools, it's not hard to whip up one, and a darn sight cheaper.
My husband had a welder friend put together a basic frame, then he cladded the back sides and roof with colourbond panels and the front with wire mesh. Some old pavers on the floor and a few wooden shelves inside and the cats have a palace fit for the prince and princesses they are.

Local handyman or similar - I found they were helpful and are used to doing 'odd type jobs' to size. If you don't have any size restrictions then bird cages have already been mentioned.

I think a purpose built enclosure should be easy enough ..local handyman...and simply enclose part of the patio maybe ..or an aviary with a tunnel to access it. Good luck..BTW ..we need pics of your kittens ...grin..

Got to agree with the above, mine was done by a handyman, then you get to design it yourself yes.gif

Not only do we need pics of your kitties we also need a photo of Harriet's enclosure...lol.

There are a number of suppliers in england that do Cat Enclosures - it depends what sort you want.....
This is a nylon mesh and stakes one
http://www.purrfectfence.com/

There are heaps here - but again it might be cheaper to get a handy-man to build one...
http://www.simply-su...using_range.htm
and here's another - the cubby and shed builders should be able to knock one up for you
http://www.bransby-b...k/aviaries.html
and here is another - there are lots if you google for aviary...
http://www.countrywi...gory.asp?cat=29
AND I agree about the cat books - I have seen lots of enclosures advertised in them.

When Steve comes along - I.M.O.M. - perhaps he will put some photos up of his enclosure which is attached to the house.

Come out of the little window lol

I just used the space at the side of the house, I have since planted the tree stump, and I am awaiting the handyman (who is my ex husband) to put more shelves in, but I have been waiting 6 months now, I must have annoyed him at some point w00t.gif

My advice would be to get the local hanyman in to build what would suit - and then net it! That is if you vannot find any premade ones that you like.
