Ohhhh sounds like fun smile.gif I remember the hurricane (that wasn't a hurricane stupid scientists tried to claim) in South England in the late 1980's, the one that flattened a couple of forests etc. We lost our roof then.

I will take your advice and tie everything down in preparation, the gable end of a house has blown down up here, along with hundreds of fences.

We lost the felt off the roof of our shed in the strong winds a few weeks back & we haven't replaced it so that'll be OK LOL!

Cooler weather? It's been positively balmy today (10 degrees C!).

Everything here all tied down my cats outdoor enclosure has been folded down and stored in the shed and as far as i know all is safe with our roof.A non school day too so no walking to school and a lie in (bliss).May is a funny month as Steve said Julia sometimes we have rain and more rain sometimes it's just chilly and sometimes we get a fair bit of sun but that's normally at the end of the month.Usually brightens up in June but i'm not holding my hopes out this year after last year.

I wore shorts and t shirts smiley_lol.gif though perhaps only for three days a year. Julia, because you are used to the heat May will definitely be quite cool for you so I would plan around layers so if it does warm up you can peel off.

I miss the dales in the north, we used to go hiking around in the Yorkshire Dales, it's so beautiful, the limestone walls rolling hills. Also we used to visit the old castles and montasaries (sp?). England has such a rich history.

To Steve, Rachel, Harriet and Mustang. Hope it's not too blustery for you. Take care and be safe.

Today in Adelaide, it's going to be 40ºC, yesterday was 39. We still have another week of extreme hot weather. Enough is enough!

I'm on the next or . See you soon for some 'cold weather'!!

Joan.
