The Budget is the government's annual announcement of how it intends to raise money for government spending. It involves a prediction of the economic growth, a review of the taxes including income tax, vehicle excise duty, fuel duty, family benefits etc & announcements on how much the government is pledging to spend on public services.
Duty is also normally increased on tobacco & alcohol which is always a big talking point.

Well at least they havent taxed cat food...............yet 
Don't give them ideas!!!!
So what now, beer has gone up to £6 a pint? Do I need to bring my own alcohol from Australia? Hehehe.
can you bring a few gallons of petrol over too while you're at it Julia...
