I just went out on a 2 week vacation and my cat sitter didn't brush my persian. She is now covered in mats. I've tried to pull them out and even cut them out, but she still yells at me. Please help.

You may need to take her to the vet's or a pet groomer to have her shaved. If they are that bad then it may be the only solution. Be careful with the cutting.

That happened years ago when I had a Chinchilla persian, I used to work on her only when she was very sleepy and was lying next to me on the lounge, I got blunt-nosed manicure scissors, and very carefully cut away little bits of the matted fur, being so careful to keep the scissors well away from the skin. It took me weeks to get all the matted fur cut off, but it was better than having her totally shaved. So try doing it only when she is sleepy, otherwise you may have to take her to the vet and have it done under anaesthetic. Keep brushing the un-matted bits so that she is used to being brushed, but don't try to push her with cutting out the matted part if it causes her pain, so leave that to when she is very sleepy. Good luck.

Thank you so much, I hate hearing her cry at me, and I would hate for her to lose all her fur..
