My cat tux has a toy which happens to be covered in a shag carpet. I'm just wondering how harmful carpet can be to him because he's been chowing down on it... my boyfriend took it away from him and Im telling him he can give it back but he wants justification on it before returning the much loved toy back to tux.

If he is actually swallowing the "carpet" then it can be dangerous. I would not give it back to him if that is the case.

If he swallows lengths of carpet, they can cause intestinal obstructions.
