Cabot the Blacktown Manx who featured on this site some months ago is thriving and Much indulged by Manny our Adult Manx Man, Chloe our Adult Devon Rex and ourselves. We are So Glad /Fortunate we were led to Cabot by the Cat World "Blacktown Manx" posting.

Sadly it seems there were Two Surrendered Manx Kittens scheduled to be euthanized at Blacktown

Pound on Monday 29 December 2008. (Impound Nos: 807580 & 807581)

Fortunately it seems that One Manx Kitten was Saved by being Adopted from the pound at the last minute and the other Manx Kitten was Spared its Dire Fate by being Rescued by two kind ladies from one of the Rescue Organizations, who could not bear to see this Beautiful Kitten euthanized.

I believe Both Manx Kittens have Wonderful Personalities and will be Excellent Companions. It is sad there are so Many Unwanted Cats/Dogs ending up in Sydney Pounds where many are not saved. Can not

Understand how Three Manx Kittens have ended up at Blacktown Pound in the last few months. Have posted a photo of the latest Two Blacktown Manx Kittens on PhotoBucket and believe the Rescued Manx Kitten the Rescue Ladies need a home for is the one directly facing the camera (Impound No: 807580 ?)

[size="3"]Logistics prevent us bringing this Lovely Little Manx Man to Adelaide. However, someone in NSW is

going to get a Great Companion and we hope he finds a Loving Home soon as Cabot did..

Regards,

John

John

Where are they coming from, do you think? The Manx is not exactly a common breed in Australia, nor, I would imagine, a cheap one. So is some breeder dumping kittens they think are sub standard or is it perhaps an unregistered breeder?

it just seems strange to have so many runing up in one spot.

Its a Real Puzzle as to their origins. Have Not been able to track the Breeders due to privacy laws impacting the Pound/Microchip implanter etc. my guess is an unregistered breeder or people no longer wanting the cats. The tailess Rumpy Manx are sought as Show quality, but those with some tail, or long tails seem essential for breeding purposes. These are ALL Very Nice Cats and seem acceptable Manx if you judge them as partial tailed being Risers, Stumpys or Longys.

We are Most Grateful to have Cabot the first Blacktown Manx and my daughter/grandchildren in Melbourne who have Panda, the Manx Girl kitten who was rescued from Renbury Death Row around the same time, will Never part with her. (Panda runs the household)

Be good if anyone can shed some light on how/why Manx end up on Death Row in NSW Pounds.
Even if they are not show quality, they are still Cats who can/will bring Great Joy as companions.

Have added a couple of photos of Cabot and Panda to the PhotoBucket Album for the Blacktown Manx Kittens, showing these Dumped Manx are growing up nicely in Happy/Loving Homes. strange they ended up on Death Row before being Rescued.
