My brilliant honest caring vet has left Vet West (they have a very high turnover with their vets) and I am trying to find a vet who actually cares and isnt a rip off merchant that is close-ish to home. We would like to be able to take the "kids" to the same vet so they can get used to each other as I get annoyed taking them to vet west and seeing a different vet each time (who usually doesnt do a thorough job or listen/care) helpsmilie.gif

Please dont suggest Doubleview as I dont like them (same goes for Balcatta) and Innaloo is hardly open. We dont want to have to travel far ESPECIALLY if its an emergency so we want one close to home wacky.gif

Anyone been to Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital (Gwelup) and if so, what are they like with kitties and costs (meaning are they honest)?

THANKS smiley_abxb.gif

Checking with my friend in WA she says that the FLOREAT VETERINARY HOSPITAL (just near Birkdale/Cmabridge Street intersection) is reasonable in price and that it is owned by a Dr S who works there though every few years he does get interns in to work with him but the turnover is slow in vets...rather the general staff turnover faster lol

ALso I believe there is a vet practise on the corner of Wannaroo Rd and Royal St Mt Yokine who are supposed to be ok

Is the Francis St vet hospital still going in Osbourn Park/?? they were supposedly ok

There is a vet clinic (not sure which vet practise it is aligned to) on Grantham St/Marlow St in Wembly

THere is also the Nedlands Vet Hospital ... but that suburb defines itscharges though the vet is top notch and is always there and doesnt change plus always willing to talk, advise and listen.

if I get anymore info back from the friend I will post for you.

ETA: Ever thought of getting one of the many mobile vets??? they tend to be solo workers who keep their clients for a long time and they come to you so puss stays home for most of the treatments ..... and for more serious stuff they have arrangements with other vets ..... their rates sometimes are lower because they have less overheads. Don'tknwo of any to hand but am sure you can find several in the yellow pages!

I absolutely adore Grantham Street Vet - it is small, it is owned by the vets who work there, and very friendly.

I have never been rushed, or looked over, and I have called up extremely worried about my cat and been told to bring her in straight away.

I don't really like Balcatta tbh, I have had issues with them over pain relief etc. but! it is useful for after hours emergency only. Although if I could I would go straight to Murdoch.
