Here is my latest edition to keeping my cats happy yes.gif Rocky has full sun in the afternoon so i thought shade sails would do the trick yes.gif And it has we know how a very cool stud boy even though the girls can stay inside in the air con they spend most of the day outside in the other run which is connected to another enclosure by a long tunnel down to the backyard.
Here is Rocky's enclosure

Here are the girls checking out what im doing

And my dog behind the gate wanting to join in

The shade sails are fantastic and easy to install yes.gif

Great idea. I used to come from the middle of wa's cyclone belt and had them in my old home and just a handy tip if you are in an area prone to cyclones or high wind rated storms its a good idea to take them down for each storm as I have found you will tend to loose them completely or damaged to point of unrepairable. If you attach them with D shackles its easy to put up and down.

Shade sails will work well, but they have a life span. Once they deteriorate they will tear. If you have a REALLY bad wind storm they will tear like anything else even if brand new. Just make sure you keep an eye on them and replace when they start to wear.
Nice thought though to keep sun off your furries.

I din't see this earlier (came from your other post). It is a great idea to keep them cool. But yes, they do deteriorate in sun, and if the wond is strong enough they will ri. You could take the umbrella like one in if storms are forecast.

Do they come treated with any sort of UV protection coating? If not, it would be worth looking into to see if you could get a spray or paint on one.

They are the expensive ones that cut out 97% of UV, they are only going to be temporary while i get quotes from builders to put up a large awning instead so i wont have to worry about them blowing away.
But for the moment they are doing there job in this very hot weather yes.gif For the cats anyway not anyone thats in the pool
