PRESS RELEASE: 7 Feb

For many families who have lost their homes in the recent bushfires, their pets are all that remain. We understand the urgent need to provide food and supplies to keep these precious dogs, cats and small animals healthy and happy.

4 Paws & More Pet Supplies in Keilor Park wish to advise that from Monday 8 February, we will accept contributions of pet goods and pet food, that will in turn be sorted and distributed to those who most need them.

We will contact all of our suppliers in the hope of securing further donations, and provide as much assistance ourselves as possible. We are starting with crates, leads and collars (dog and cat), large bags of cat food, dog food, bedding, and treats.

If anyone has any unwanted items such as bedding, pens, crates, bowls, toys, food, leads etc, for dogs, cats and small animals, please consider parting with them to help our fellow Victorians.

Our hours are 9.00 to 5.30 Monday to Friday, 9.00 to 5pm Saturday, and 10.00 to 4.00pm Sunday. 4 Paws & More Pet Supplies is situated between the Calder Freeway and Western Ring Road at Unit 2, 60 Keilor Park Drive, Keilor Park. Melways 15 B9. Phone 03 9331 7869.

Update: 8 Feb, 8.25am
Prestige Pet Products in Queensland have donated bedding and leads. We expect to recieve these toward the end of this week.

Phillipa

Phillipa thanks for posting. Would you mind too much in your next post to use a larger font or just the standard font as those of us who are half-blind have trouble seeing the teeny fonts, LOL. Thanks!

Sorry about the font size. :-). Didn't want to use up too much space.

To update, we took two big 4WD's worth of food and goods to Whittlesea Animal Hospital and the tent for Wildlife Victoria yesterday.

We have three trips planned today, back to Whittlesea for Wildlife Victoria, Eltham Vet, and Coldstream Animal Aid.

The response is overwhelming, with individuals bringing in products they no longer need, or else they've been to the supermarket, or they buy in the store based upon our most up date needs (as advised to us by various orgs). We then match anything bought in store. In addition, suppliers such as Artemis Petfoods, True Blue Treats, Royal Canin, Nutrience and Advance, as well as Ruddocks, Pet Pacific, Prestige Pet Products, Ezydog and Rogz all have either donated food/goods or have it on the way to us.

Thank you to everyone who is so generous with their time and contributions.

Phillipa & Ian

Bump

I have just returned from 4 Paws & More where I dropped off donations for pets and medical supplies for Wildlife Victoria. Phillipa, her husband and staff are doing a wonderful job in getting the donations out to the affected areas. Items are sorted in the shop and go to the areas/groups that most need them everyday.

If you are in Melbourne and have items for the animals may I suggest that you drop them off here.

My thanks to 4 Paws & More for helping me being able to help - great job.
