Found- Poker

Just letting everyone know that Poker was taken in to the vet in Concord this morning. Very pleased as I was missing him terribly. Thankfully, with the cold weather setting in there will not be any open windows for him to sneak out!! I am hoping that if there is another heatwave I will be able to go and buy a fan to prevent this happening again.
I think his return was karma- last night we found and fed a very affectionate Tom hoping it would bode well for Poker.
I think he will be happier once we move out into a private apartment with flyscreens so he can sit in the window (he likes the breeze??) without going OUT of it.

Hey I really like that Idea. Might also be something I could try at the new place if we have a big balcony! I am thinking it would be nice to have him go out there, and will be looking for cat runs and such, the only issue would be that I can't cut the glass in the doors or anything so might not be able to connect it to the cage??

In the 'good ol' days' you could buy small slide open flyscreen tht fitted into a sash window (slide up and down) and were adjstable. Imagine 2 squares of fly mesh attached with a bit of channel top and bottom, which slid apart to form a rectangle. With the advent of those dreadful wind out windows they disappeared from the market.
Someone needs to reinvent this for side opening windows. If you cannot imagine what I mean I'll draw one and scan it.

Sara Jane, it was just 2 squares of some sort of aluminium frame with the netting on, and the channel stuff had 2 grooves, with stops at the ends, and the 2 squares slid to ahlf way along each. So at maximum one was at one end and the other at the opposit end, forming a long rectangle. They were great, and you could open an unscreened window and then shut it down tight on the screen and it would stay there.

That is great news Sara Jane
Make sure you have permission for a cat in the new place- pets are banned in my Sydney place. Not far from where you are.
That caused a lot of grief to people who moved in and were told to get rid of a cat.(I had permission for mine before they brought in the no pet by-law)
Most apartment blocks wont allow enclosing balconies or anything visible from the outside- so choose your new placde carefully.
Main thing is he is home and OK- great news
