I would like to speak for how most South Australians are feeling right now,
We may fight over how much water we take from the Murray River and definately fight big time over the footy smile.gif but a general feeling around SA at the moment is that we are really feeling for you,

We are neighbours and share the same threats always,
We live in the same type of country,
I still dont know how we have escaped the same disaster so far as all of the indicators are there,
We have been ready in our house with our bushfire plan for three weeks now just waiting,
I have become so paranoid looking down the gorge below my home every minute,

Anyway, to my fellow Victorians, I just wanted to pass on that us South Australians are thinking of you as a whole right now,

Everybody here are shedding tears for you guys,

regards, Paul

Thanks for the thread Paul. I am in Vic and fortunately out of harms way. The feeling around the community though is very sad, strong, resiliant and desperate all rolled into one. The majority of my family have been in the devastated areas and some of my family are actually still in Warburton and basically trapped with no way out. It is really nice to hear people in other states are affected and care as much for the massive losses caused by this tradgedy as we (Victorians) are.
I think most people are still in shock and it is going to get harder as the realisation of how terrible these fires have been really sinks in.

To everyone touched by this disaster and had their world changed, accept every bit of assistance in the immediate future. It's impact will go in waves over the next few months. It is impossible to explain. The Australian Community is with you all the way.

For others touched by fire in the past, we understand that this can be a difficult time for you too.

What a nice post.
Its just beyond awful isn't it? I watch the TV with tears streaming down my face.

My thoughts are with those that have lost loved ones, all the wildlife that has suffered, those that have lost their lives, their homes, their beloved pets, their towns and everything they knew and loved.

Remember the emergency workers that feel their efforts are futile. Give strength to the crisis care workers to care for those most affected by this tragedy. Keep safe all those that remain under threat.

Goes for all Australians Paul, You feel so helpless having to watch from a distance when you want to be doing! Donating money seems such a small thing, I hope it is useful to the victims.

catmagic3.gif catmagic3.gif catmagic3.gif catmagic3.gif I think Paul that during times like this crisis that us in NSW feel the feelings that you do. I took a trip down to the local Salvos shop this pm to deliver stuff and made a donation-the manager was near tears and he told me a huge transport prime mover from a local transport company had left for Victoria loaded up with donations from locals-who have been very affected by the tragic bushfires. My Kiwi family say they have the donation funds raising money-lol this is a time they readily forget the All Blacks/Wallabies rugby rivallry. The genourosity of Aussies is legendary

same thoughts from this side of adelaide too... i'm devastated... i stayed up til midnight last night sorting thru my wardrobe, and plan to do the same on the weekend. anything that i haven't worn for a while, regardless of whether i have plans to is going... and i also signed up to become a blood donor.

these people with burns will not only require blood for the immediate threat to their lives/health, they will also require blood & products for the next few months as their burns are treated and heal. my fear of needles and giving blood is petty in comparison with the horror that these people must have been through.
