The Feline Association of SA (FASA) http://www.felineassociationsa.com/ will be transporting medical goods and donations to the bushfire affected areas of Victoria on Monday the 23rd of February. I am coordinating the collection of money, gift cards, gifts and products for the injured pets/wildlife and Vets/Carers who are treating them.
FASA has a Cat Show scheduled for 22nd of Feb at The Port Dock Railway Museum and we will have a van there to collect donations.

We also have drop of points at Christies Beach, Angle Vale, Brahma Lodge and Adelaide Hills. Please contact me directly if you would like to use these drop off points.

This will be the final collection/drop off of products so we can get it to Victoria on the Monday.
A large Freight company will be transporting the goods to Victoria free of charge.

Here is a list of items that would be useful:
Food bowls
Towels (even good clean used ones)
Blankets
Bedding
Cat food
Dog food
Litter trays
Pet crates
Wire pens
Cat litter
Bird seed
Horse pellets (Hay will be too hard to transport)

Also, if you have contact with any Vets in your area, here are some medical products that are needed:

Melolin
Cohesive Bandage (vetwrap, Coplus etc)
IV Saline 0.9% 1L
IV Hartmans 1L
IV Glucose 1L
Electrolyte solution 1L concentrate
Giving set (SC fluid delivery)
30-60ml syringes
10ml syringes
5ml syringes
3ml syringes
1ml syringes
(no needles please)
Gauze swabs 7.5cm / 10cm
Gauze bandage
Elastoplast bandage
Iodine / Chlorhexidine solution
Tweezers
Scissors
Kidney dishes
Aqium / Chlorhexidine hand disinfectant
Examination gloves medium
Examination gloves large
Shaver
20kg scales Silvazine cream (burn cream)
Extra large cotton buds with long handles to apply the cream (remember, these are wild animals with very sharp claws!!)
Sheets
Pillows
Pillow slips
Large pieces of material (these can be cut-up to make 'pouches' or as blankets to throw over injured animals so we can catch them)
Disinfectant
Chux (used for toiletting the joeys)
Also, cash or gift cards from Bunnings/Hardware stores or Coles Myer (which cover many stores) will come in very handy for some.
All donations will go directly to the Vets/Carers in the affected areas.

I can be contacted by email mirexdevons@gmail.com or on my mobile 0422 552 912

Again, the final day for donations will be at the Summer Cat Show at the Port Dock Railway Museum on Sunday the 22nd of February.
Receipts will be given for all donations.

Kind regards,
Sarah Sypher

Sarah,
let me know what is most needed and I will bring it to the show at the port dock,
I am coming down to the port as a spectator on the 22nd,
Bunnings gift cards sound good also as almost everthing is there,

Or possibly "pet stock" gift cards,
I believe they are a nation wide concern with all the needs, food, scratchys, litter trays etc etc,

Regards,Paul

my vote is coles myer or wish cards if gift cards are being considered... you can use them for virtually anything.

i have donated via another source, but let me know if you need help collecting/sorting/packing things.

Thanks Liz
We had 30 bags of chaff donated today and 2 more of good quality horse pellets.
It was also announced on the radio so hopefully we will have some good donations for the affected animals.
I wish I could come over but finances won't stretch that far right now sad.gif
I may need some helpers at your end to get things where they need to go smile.gif
