In case you didn't see the "How Can We Help" thread, Sylvie has asked for help. All of these items are going directly to Wildlife Victoria. They will be used by volunteers accessing the fire effected areas to treat wildlife & other animals. They need the following items:-
Pillowcases
Sheets
Towels
Possum Pouches
If anyone can get access to the following as well, they are also desperately needed:-
Melolin
Cohesive Bandage (vetwrap, Coplus etc)
IV Saline 0.9% 1L
IV Hartmans 1L
IV Glucose 1L
Electrolyte solution 1L concentrate
Giving set (SC fluid delivery)
30-60ml syringes
10ml syringes
5ml syringes
3ml syringes
1ml syringes
(no needles please)
Gauze swabs 7.5cm / 10cm
Gauze bandage
Elastoplast bandage
Iodine / Chlorhexidine solution
Tweezers
Scissors
Kidney dishes
Aqium / Chlorhexidine hand disinfectant
Examination gloves medium
Examination gloves large
Shaver
20kg scales
At the moment there are four places where these goods can be dropped off in Sydney, to be consolidated and sent down together to the RSPCA or to Sylvie's home.
Windsor - please email Heidi from Furkidz at furkidz@hello.net.au (no PM's please).
Greystanes - please PM Karin - Aquarian.
Marrickville - Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm only - please PM me.
Vaucluse - any time, please PM me.
Once we know exactly what Carol needs in the way of goods (there is already a thread for cash donations) we are also happy to be collection points for these as well.

Thanks Doreen, don't think I can just drop by though!
We're going to mail our package direct, and a friend in Brisbane is contacting her vet and getting supplies sent directly from there.
It's so amazing how much effort everyone is going to, thank you thank you thank to everyone

I am posting here express post tomorrow - I have 4 boxes of 3ml syringes, I have just been given a really good discount on nearly 13m of polar fleece that I will cut up for them tonight, I have some melolins -but I have a medical supply place up the road that is like an aladins cave to me - I will see what I can buy cheaply there also to toss in.
Its not much, but I feel it is something practical that I am doing to help.

I cut out about 35 blankets from the polar fleece for them today. - I simply folded it into 3 width ways, then about 90cm long lengths.
very easy to do - and I think you could fit it all into 2 large express post bags - I sent mine stuffed to the rafters in 2 very large tough bags.
More expensive to post that way - but its been sent and they will have it tomorrow.
I also sent 3ml syringes, 1 small bottle of lectade concentrate, melolins and some gauze.

I am putting together my things today to take over to Doreen early next week. Most of what I have is for the RSPCA.
Anyone in Western Sydney who has anything they want me to take for them to Doreen, please contact me ASAP.
You can drop off to me at Windsor today, or I will be at Winston Hills for a few hours tomorrow.
Anyone in the Birman Club who is coming to the meeting tomorrow - I'm happy to take any donations you have for VIC - I'm sure we all have surplus of SOMETHING lying around!
I am also about to post cards and gift cards personally for Carole Webb and Carol Kane - if anyone else wants to join me, let me know and maybe we can send them together.

Thanks Heidi, Lynne is also dropping off all her goodies (I think three car loads
) on Wednesday and Thursday, so hopefully I can get the first shipments off on Thursday. We will be sending whatever is appropriate direct to the refuges, especially the one Kirsten is helping out at, and the rest will go to the RSPCA. Lynne has managed to get two large cages, but if anyone else has any spare cages, the refuges can really use them. Also, with the pet food, if anyone knows of anywhere else that they need pet food, please let me know, perhaps we can also send some there.
Thanks to everyone who has been working so hard on this, I know Karin (Aquarian) and Heidi and Lynne have all collected heaps, and I have also managed to get a fair bit together, so our CW family in Sydney should be able to make a substantial contribution to help our furry friends.

Thank you to everyone who has generously donated, and thank you to Beau-Ty who has managed to get us some medical supplies. After Karin drops off her load tomorrow we expect to have goods being sent out tomorrow afternoon, they should arrive in Melbourne by Friday. I will also be happy to do another load down to Melbourne next week if there are any more things people would like sent down.
