'I heard that too. I didnt post as I missed the whole segment and didnt want to get people all excited.
Congratulations to our wonderful Police force.
I just read the article and what shocked to see that the maximum penalty is 25 years. No where near long enough. Our criminal system is stuffed as far as I am concerned.

25 years for each life would be fine as long as they are kept in total confinement, with no luxury items like a television, magazines, cigarettes .... absolutely nothing and with no contact with other people EVER

We were talking about this last night. I personally think they should be named and shamed. I think they should be made to meet and look in the eyes of each and every person who has lost someone in these fires, hear their tales of grief and pain, and then take that with them when they are put into jail. Will give them a lot to think about while they sit and rot.

I did see one report where bushfire survivors are saying that the arsonists should be made to remove the bodies from cars and houses etc.

No matter what happens, they will never get what they totally deserve, only what the laws allow, which is inadequate.

ETA Mirex I do like your thinking rolleyes.gif

I have heard it said that Arsonists responsible for these fires should simply be Convicted, then Released in the City Centre at an announced time/date for the Community to Determine/Implement whatever level of Justice is Appropriate.
