Hi Everyone,
a mum from my kids school has organised with a local business in Engadine to supply
a shop for 1 week next week (from Monday) as a collection point for donations for the fire victims.
I will be going to help sort through & pack the things.
I have asked her to ask people for pet products , pillow cases , bunny rugs & towels.
Anything for injured animals on her list of things as well as the human things.
They are asking that things donated be in very good condition & nothing is broken.
Toiletries things like hair brushes, elastic bands etc.
Plastic crate sto store things in.
They have organised delivery as well.
So if anyone has anything they would like to donate please drop it to:
Sportzone, old princes highway Engadine. Next to Sutherland Credit Union.

I would like to update everyone about our drop off over the last 2 days.
I know that some have read this at least so I will still let you know even though no-one replied.
Firstly I thank you for taking the time to read this.
It is very long sorry! :-) But for a very worthy cause
I will explain a little first.
Yesterday & today I spent most of my time
(my kids even had to come after school hours & my little Heidi spent all the time there.)
helping out Kelly ( a kind mum from the kids school)
& her wonderful team of workers to unpack, sort & repack clothes, toys, bedding, household items,
brand new toiletries & bedding for the poor animal victims.
We packed everything in size & sex order &
have been told by the Red Cross that they are so grateful
to have all the sorting already done & that they can't wait to receive all the stuff.
The support from the community has been overwhelming &
we are at a point that after only 2 days we have filled a semi-trailer.
I am very proud to be an aussie today.
It has been exhausting but oh so very rewarding.
So now I get to the help part.
Kelly has been given the use of a truck & has two very kind men who have
donated their time to drive the truck down to VIC & the red cross.
We actually had a company lined up to do it but it was very stressful & was
turning into a logistical nightmare with the restrictions they required.
So now we have the truck & the drivers but we are really in need for
some monetary donations to pay for petrol.
It will cost at least $2000.00 to get the goods down & for the guys to get back
plus they need to stay overnight & food.
If you can help at all, even a very small amount will help we would forever be grateful.
We are trying to get some businesses on board as well.
The truck will leave regardless after it is packed tomorrow.
Please if you can help send me a pm
or call 0409 457 038.
& I will let you know details.
Any money they don't use will be directly deposited to the bush fire appeal.
thank you again, a very tired but happy
Trace
p.s. as of last night we already have $1000.00.!!! :-)
Also I haven't asked if i can post this so if it's not ok please delete it.

Well the Truck has headed on it's way to VIC. We ended up filling a 45 foot semi!
Thank you to 2 wonderful people that donated some money.
I won't mention their names as to not embarrass them.
They know who they are though.
I have shed some tears this arvo at the generous hearts of people.
Seeing that truck filled to the brim was just chilling (in a good way).
I know that no one will really see this that helped but I can't thank tham enough
love Trace

Tracey that is wonderful news, and I am proud to be an Aussie as well.......
When I get home in April I am planning to go through my stored furniture and see what furniture and things I can part with that might help some of the fire victims who lost everything......by April I suspect some of them will be finding some sort of accomodation and many will still need things so hopefully that will help a little.
