Yes they are.

I have never been more proud of being an Australian, and even more so, when both my children aged 12 and 14 emptied their money boxes, and rang through their donation earlier tonight. brought tears to my eyes (again).

Isn't it wonderful to see the generosity of the Australian people. In such an economicly troubled time especially, it is amazing. I am very proud to be an Australian.

Did I say that I am proud to be an Australian.....there is nothing like it for kindred spirits - especially in times of crisis.

Did we all watch Australia Unites on TV? Please tell me I wasn't the only one to start sooking during John Williamson's "True Blue" - he gets me every time with that song!

As hideously awful as this tragedy is, I am, like everyone else in this post, overwhelmed with pride to be Australian. All the time, but especially now.

I watched a bit of the telecast last night and was amazed at the generosity of some people. I was impressed by Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban donating $500,000 of their own money, but also it was so obviousl that little kids were cleaning out their money boxes and donating $5, equally touching. It was good to hear there will be 300 cars for the Bushfire victims to use free of charge for a year, good practical donations. And yes, that John Williamson "Hey True Blue" got me all teary too.

I, too, am so proud to be an Australian. I didn't get to see the telethon, though I did hear John Williamson sing at one point, and it brought a tear to my eye as well.

Australians are a very special breed, and so are C-Wer's bearhug.sml
