Just been notified that Borders will be collecting good quality second hand books for the Bushfire Appeal. They will add to the monetary value of the books and will donate funds and books to restock schools and libraries in the affected areas

What a great excuse to declutter! Yippeee!

Apparently they have advertised on "Sunrise" - so the young assistant was telling us. They filled two big boxes with the books we took in - been meaning to have a clearout for ages and I knew we'd never get around to selling them.

Gone - Danielle Steele and Barbara someone (belonging to OH - not my style!), Oscar Wilde, Wilbur Smith, Grisham, Robin Cook, etc, etc, etc....

OH was going to get rid of his entire collection of Stephen King and Dean Koontz but I stood in front and protected them. Saved also were Jane Austen, EM Forster, Patricia Cornwell, Elizabeth George, Tolkein, Rowling... and OH refused to be parted from Silverberg...

We had/have quite a collection!

Remember, these are not only donated to libraries but Borders is also adding the value of the books to the appeal...

That's great! Admittedly I didn't turf out any of my reference books sad.gif or children's books because I'm still using them. Or couldn't quite be separated from them....

Still have three bookcases full...

OH was going to get around to selling the hardcover ones we gave away, but I think that meant I was supposed to get around to selling them! And this was for a much better cause!
