I read in our newspaper today that a convoy of semi trailers has left Perth heading for Victoria with fully equiped Dongas to provide some permanent accomodation for those who have lost their houses. These portable buildings have been donated by mining companies as they are surplus to their needs and a Pallet company here has equiped them with furniture and manchester. These will provide shelter for up to 100 people I believe. Just amazing, they should arrive Monday! Our Salvo's stores have asked people to stop donating as they have been unable to cope with the volume of donations, their warehouses are full until they can pack containers. Several containers of clothes and manchester have already been dispatched.

Carol that will be a big help for people who need accomodation. That is amazing that they got it all coordinated.

It sounds like something good has come out of the demise of the mining boom!

I was wondering what they would do for accommodation with having so many people displaced, I think this is a great way to help.
