Now that I've finally got this photobucket thing sorted, thought I would post a pic of the cat run I built for Josie and Bandit (Catcatraz) in case it helps anyone thinking of enclosing the side passage at their place. It's easy and my two love it and are safe!

Good job. I am sure your cats love their new area. Are you going to put up some ramps for them to climb along the fence.

Looks good. It is great for the cats to get outside and have a play in the wind and laze in the sun.

The fence is a bit old, actually, it stands up to being the physical barrier that keeps Josie and Bandit in Catcatraz, but I don't think it would hold up to having anything attached to it, especially things that hefty little cats would then jump on and run around on. As it is, I have to do a 'paling' check every week and go over to the neighbours house to whack in more nails. I'm renting, otherwise I would pay to replace the fence and install all manner of goodies for them but they're happy enough running through the undergrowth, climbing the lattice at the far end, jumping in and out of the window constantly.

Great job! I'd love to know the basic construction? We have a driveway width between our (rental) house and fence and I am considering using cat netting to enclose it somewhat - any tips for a fellow renter?
