I had been meaning to post photos of our cat enclosure, we built the Main part (the converted avairy) and then put the extension on it a couple of months later. We have always had intensions of building an aerial tunnel to have access to the side area of the house and enclosure that fully as well so they have come into the house through the laundry, but unfortunately that hasn't come about as yet

For what ever reason the cats haven't ever jumped out from the trees, which they have both climbed up and sat higher then the top of the fence. On a couple of occassions we thought they had until we looked very high up in the branches and heard the little meows

Since the photos we also put a slim line tank in the corner which was on a stand and one of their favourite hinding spots, and planted more plants

That is great but it would not keep my cats in. I think as your cat is older, he does not bother but if you have younger ones, then I think it would be a problem.

It looks great. I would be careful though. If something should frighten your kitties they may just bolt over the fence.

My meezer would be out of there in 10 seconds flat.

We thought that Jinx the 9 yo would have jumped out by now, but as it turns out he hasn't.

We had intentions of putting a roof in if there seemed to any attempts of escaping, but they never did...

I guess with the boys becoming terminally ill we decided to leave it be for now as we didn't want to upset them unnessarily with renovations on their home, didn't realise the photos don't show it, but they have two hidy cubes where they slept, and there is 1 1/2 feet between the back of the enclosure and the fence where they can hide as well and lots of shelving in the aviary part of the enclosure for sunning time. It gets the morning sun perfectly and is shaded well from the afternoon sun...

I think your enclosure is great....it would not take that much to mesh it with pond mesh or the nylon cat mesh so the roof was secure. Your pusses were very lucky.....and one day another puss will also get the benefit.

Yippee! So excited we are currently extending our cat run to include the full side of the house..... puss will have an aerial tunnel to go from the existing cattery to the extension, and we are going to put shelves etc.... We have permission from the neighbour to attach laserlight to the fence to close in the verandah, in a nice charcoal grey...... I'm so excited I feel like im wriggling out of my skin hehe

Will post pictures once nearer to completion, currently we have purchased two security doors, and materials to go along the fence.... now will have to go and research plants etc, as we would like to make it like a potted fernery type setup under the verandah as well.....

Just be careful. You might have the neighbours permission but generally constructing anything at fence height or higher requires council permission. The loop hole is to make it temporary. lol.gif
