Slow going on my huge project of a block of 3 runs as my friend cant finish it. Trying to bribe male relatives with offers of roast lunches but they are not falling for it, yet.
1st run is done & the fake grass brightens it up as my garden is mostly gravel. Will see what they do to it before installing any more. There will be 3 runs under one roof that is unusually shaped as I used an existing structure.
A run the same as the finished one at the opposite end & the centre one a different shape.
I will take a section of the dull pavers out of the middle of the centre one & put fake grass in there, if not demolished by cats.
The pepper tree in the corner gives lovely shade & there are small gum trees growing in various spots that will shade the rest.
The original square shapes had shade cloth in a frame over the tops. These fit exactly on the side so they will be put on later to help with that harsh sun that comes in from one side in the afternoons.
The whole run is 38 feet long by 6 feet for the end runs but the centre one extends out 7 feet sideways. So far only cost is about $800. Garage sales & scrounging bits & bobs has been good this time plus I always use new wire, old is too hard to work with.

It does look excellent - and what an area.....your kitties are so lucky...

If it was me I would not remove all the pavers - just leave some gaps about 3 to 4 inches wide between some of them and plant some mondo or Couch grass in between.....but then it is very very hot over in Adelaide and maybe it would be more trouble than it is worth.

The artificial grass looks good - get a rubber brush and it will take the hair off easily.
