Hi everyone,

I thought it would be good to let everyone know that the RSPCA is organising an Animal Remembrance Day on Sunday 26 April. This is a free event being held at Rochford Winery in Coldstream. It's an opportunity for the community to reflect and remember the over 1 million animals lost in the Black Saturday Bushfires.

There is more information on our website www.rspcavic.org.au or you can go straight to www.ticketmaster.com.au to secure your free tickets to the event. For those people who are mourning the loss of their own animals, we are inviting them to take part in the service. If you have lost animals, or are mourning your own loss from this devasatating bushfire (as so many of us are), please don't hesitate to contact my team directly to order your tickets & get further information on how you can be involved in this event.

I am so proud that we are able to do something for the community, especially seeing as so many of us were directly affected. I hope that CW members will attend this special event & remember all the animals lost on that terrible weekend.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me directly on ssomers@rspcavic.org.au

Thanks,
Sarah

Oh thats so lovely. I am in NSW but my heart will be there for all those poor furry babies (pets and wildlife) who lost their precious little lives. Rainbow bridge.gif

I would too if I was closer.

And Rochford is a lovely place to remember but then I would have to duck up to Coldstream Hills hehe.

What a great idea. I am too far away but I will be thinking of all those that lost their precious pets.

That's a really good idea. Psychological effects from disasters can be devastating, and it is ideas like this that can provide closure and help people heal.

A beautiful idea, so glad that it is happening. Wish that I could be there, it will have to be in spirit only. I hope that a lot of people attend and that those who have lost can get some healing from this event. Thank you for sharing it.

Hi everyone,

Regardless of the hideous weather on Sunday, the event is still going ahead. It's going to be a beautiful service.

It was beautiful. The weather was more windy than anything. There was a moment where I thought the marquee would take off, but other than that it was great. We all cried, we all thought about what we had gone through & it was amazing. Carole shared her experience with us, which was so very special. She is the most amazingly strong & fabulous person. I don't know how she got up & spoke, but she did.
All the readings went well, the singing went well (I remembered all my words, but forgot that I would be looking at people crying - which was hard). It was perfect.
