Hi all,
Just thought Id share some pics of our recently constructed cat enclosure. We originally had one constructed of steel frame and plastic mesh, but it wasnt sturdy enough and our beagle had a bit of a chew through the mesh because he was angry that he lost his yard space.

Our new one is made from timber, wire and shadecloth. Its big enough so we can get in and spend some time with our girls and maintain the plants and water in there. We made a covered cubby house down the end, put some tunnels in and plenty of boxes so they can choose the warmest place to sleep.

I think the best idea came from my husband and that was to do with the plants. The soil in the enclosure is quite hard so we werent keen on digging the whole lot up to plant cat friendly plants. So instead we buried some pots in the ground and we have a patch out the back where we grow catnip, cat mint and cat grass. When the plants in the enclosure die or are flattened by being laid on all the time, we can just change the pots out to a new batch all ready to go.
We also have a running waterfall that keeps our maine coon Chelsea busy pawing at the water.

Hope you like it and maybe we've sparked some inspiration rolleyes.gif

i love the idea of the potted grass catnip and cat mint and i also love the idea of the water feature. between the bengals (Bear and Bandy)and the street kids (Guin and Merlin) they would have fun in an enclosure like yours. yes.gif

my problem is i have high windows and height restrictions in my area due to stupid hertitage overlay area i live in so it must be under the fence line so my dear neighbours dont complain rolleyes.gif

but it does give me ideas for when we do eventually move a lot of ideas clap.gif

thank you for sharing guys

Very nice! The resident (Tonkinese or Siamese?) looks extremely contented. Love the water feature.

Looks fabulous - somewhat a bit like Henry & Cilla, except you have more levels for your cats, and of course you have the water feature. Well done.

Thats our little Coco. She's a brown burmese. She loves lying in the sun but she's not too steady on her feet, so we had to make sure all the levels and perches were all easy to get to.
