On Friday a client brought in a stray rabbit that her dog had found while walking by the Maribyrnong River. This lucky little rabbit was rescued from certain death by dog or other predator.
She is a Netherland Dwarf and looked to be an adult. She has a white body with chocolate points in the himalayan pattern. While uninjured by the dog, she has a large lump under her jaw that could be an abscess. It was not affecting her ability to eat but clearly needs surgery.
She's safe at the Lort Smith Animal Hospital for 8 days hoping that her owner will come forwards to claim her. The nurses at LSAH were expecting that she would receive surgery and be rehomed if her owner did not come forwards. She was not microchipped.
So if anyone has lost a rabbit matching that description or is potentially interested in adopting her in the future, she was absolutely gorgeous, friendly and handleable. Good luck little bunny!
