I went to put the bunnies to bed and found both our boys were missing!
Then I found the hole that was dug under the fence.....
I climbed up to look over the fence and there was our favourite boy Cloud lying dead.
His son, Smudge was nowhere to be seen.
The neighbours dog, a staffy had not touched the bunnies but Cloud obviously got a fright - silly bunny!
I searched high and low for Smudge, expecting to find another little body....nothing.
The neighbour helped and locked his dog away - I knew if Smudge was hiding somewhere he'd never come out with the dog around.
It got dark really quick and I honestly believed Smudge was gone too.
Then I went back to look over the fence again with a torch and heard a rustle in the mans shed!
I jumped the fence again and there was little Smudge having a great time exploring a pile of old stuff in the shed!!
I waited until he was ready.....and finally coaxed him out and brought him home.
Eric is away this week in Perth - Cloud was his favourite bunny and I've had to call and break the sad news.
Cloud has been in with Zena the past few days so I now have EVERYTHING crossed she has fallen pregnant to him! Smudge is Cloud's son, so we still have a part of him here.
He was the best bunny ever, the most smoochy, cuddly boy who would follow you around and come up to you for cuddles. He came when he was called, he was best mates with our dog and even played with some of our cats too (those who didn't want to eat him!)
Here is the last pic taken of him a few weeks ago with his son Smudge - Cloud is the white bunny.
