Hi everyone,
I am interested in creating my own seiving litter trays to use with the oz-pet litter. Many people have mentioned that they've bought the seive containers from local chinese stores. I live in Chelsea Heights and I was just wondering if anyone has found them around the Bayside area please?
Thanks, Kate
PS: Has anyone found a hooded tray that a normal litter tray fits inside?

Go to Bunnings you will find one in the storage section that works just as good for $4.75. I find absolutely no difference between this and the normal seive tray and I like to have a few for accidents and cleaning and drying.
Other have said the dog house from the Reject Shop works a treat as a covered tray lol just pop the tray inside hehe

I made my own covered litterbox for my enclosure, which is where my two seem to do their poos! I used an old black PVC box that we used to use to recycle bottles, etc., (yep, I'm in the SE suburbs, too!), and I used a hacksaw to cut out a door/opening. Then I simply turned it over and put the tray underneath, and voila! An enclosed (almost) box!
I had been looking at this dog kennel (see below) otherwise, so if you can't get hold of an old/new carton/box-type thing, check it out. I think the Reject Shop at Southland also has the kennels for a few extra dollars...

Good luck!

So you can find sieve trays in the storage section of Bunnings???? I have a 50l tray from there for litter, which while drying busted one pretty badly, so are back to one....... am finding the size perfect but are really wanting the sieve setup to trial as well.....
Good luck with your homemade hooded tray....

Ive made them
I found the white seive trays at Bunnings today (around $4) and then went to Sam's Warehouse and bought their 32L plastic tubs (around $8). I also bought a 20kg bag of Oz-Litter.
So far I've just added a few pellets to their normal litter, but I've also set up the new tray.
Hopefully they'll get the idea in a couple of weeks.
I'll keep you posted!

Well done on the price - it makes it that much more affordable to have multiple trays when you get them that cheap. I've got 2 Ragdolls and 3 homemade trays, but no way would I have afforded 3 Oz Litter trays. I do love the litter, though.
Good luck - let us know how you/they find it!

Well so far, they've used their old tray with a few oz-litter pellets in it. Tomorrow I will change the litter and add even more pellets. Then in a few days I'll take off the hood so they get used to going in an open tray.
Baby steps....
Don't want to rush it because they could be a little stressed with two new kittens arriving this weekend.
Plus, we're painting, so the spare room is now opened for them again as it's all finished. Although, there seems to be new empty food bowls, new litter tray, new toys, new blankets....hmmmmm what's going on here (this will be the kittens room for a couple of weeks until I can unite them - I hope!). And now the study is out of bounds because that's getting painted and all the study furniture is in the games room..... poor things, they must be very confused!!! haha

I found them in the plastic baskets section. They have holes all over, some up the sides too and sort of in triangles and squares. They had white, red and blue.

Here is a link with a photo of someone else's. Hope that helps.

I went to Bunnings and there were no sieve trays/baskets to fit the BigW litter trays. The lady at Bunnings told me the Tweed one is a 'small' store and I'd need to bring in details so they can order some for me. So can someone take a photo of the label and post it to I can print it out and take it with me into Bunnings? Please, please pretty please.
