Max gone too soon

I had visitors yesterday and somehow my Oriental snuck out the front door. While saying goodbye to our friends my friend started freaking out and saw my cat walking across the road then get hit by a car (btw they didn't stop or care enough to check him).
With my daughter screaming and me swearing I ran out to find my beloved baby boy of five years had been killed instantly. Laying dead on the road. I carried him to my house and with kids all crying I hugged him and sat there stunned.. I still can't quite believe it. He'd been my boy for five years, in fact he was a companion to me after my first Oriental was tragically killed in different circumstances, wtf. Maybe somebody is telling me I shouldn't own an Oriental again, I have four other cats who are now sharing our loss and looking out the window for him. I can't believe he is gone.
Wrapped in his blankie, my partners favourite shirt, and peacefully laying in his basket we buried him next to where my 13yo dog was buried last year.
RIP with Kaiser and I'll see you again sweetheart.
Love you Maxie. So sorry my baby boy.
There's nothing more special than to be loved by an Oriental.

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved Maxie...
I also am privileged enough to share my home with Templeton pusscats and I do wonder if my Scooter is somehow related to your Max...
Scooter and I (and all of the SmudgeWillow Gp 2 pusses, who are probably all related to Maxie) send lots and lots of pumps, purrs and headbutts to you and all your family...
There is a very special angel up in the sky tonight... and we down here are all missing him...
